My entry for :icondianae:'s contest "Gods, Goddesses and Mythology".

This one is a beaded peacock necklace.

According to the greek mythology, Argos was a giant with a hundred eyes. He was Hera's servant. Hera's defining task for Argos was to guard the white heifer Io, one of the many nymphs Zeus was coupling with, keeping her chained to the sacred olive tree at the Argive Heraion. To free Io, Zeus had Argus slain by Hermes.
In memory of Argos, Hera placed his hundred eyes on the tail of her sacred bird, the peacock.

This necklace was entirely made with seed beads (plus a few Swarovski beads).

Time spent : approx. 30 hours

Design by me.
Please let me know if one of your deviations was inspired by this pattern ;)

ABOUT COMMISSIONS:

YES I am open for commission work! :)
I can:
- Re-make a prototype already in my DA gallery
- Make some original work if you give me instructions.

Prices can be discussed by note or email, but it mostly depends on the time I spend on a piece and the kind of beads used.

Please note that I am not professionnal in beading. I make these pieces during my extra-time, so a piece can require several weeks to be completed (this one is a good example ^^"").

A Beloved Memory is by ~The-2nd-Trinity is a necklace that is as shiny as a true peacock and has an interesting background concept. Its unusual shape and colors make it very attractive, beautiful and intricate looking. (Suggested by `Dianae and Featured by `Myana)

I think this is an absolutely gorgeous piece. The colors are perfect, as is the shape. Well done and best of luck in the contest!

Unfortunately it doesn't look as good as in real life on my monitor (a bit too cold, the left image is too green, everything is a bit too desaturated). Else it's a killer work, wonderful! Since I know the real one, I can tell it looks 100 times better irl, although it already looks great on the photos!

Bonne chance!

How wonderful. THIS is something I would wear. You got the patterning down amazingly well -- it looks like feathers. VERY well done, and well deserving of a DD. :)
